Inspired by the idea of the cauliflower crust, Sophie, the founder of Wholehearted Eats, worked on and successfully created a grain-free vegetable based pizza. Instead of the mild flavoured cauliflower, she decided to substitute in sweet and creamy winter squash. Drool alert!
Sure, this gluten-free pizza doesn’t have the traditional crispy crust, but we’re willing to pick up the pieces and we’re confident that you will too. Mashed butternut squash, almond flour, and ground flax are just a few of the ingredients you’ll need to make the delicious crust. When it comes to the sauce, however, you’ll have to get a little green. And by green we mean with a little spinach and basil.
