Sweet Banana Almond

A sweet shake for Mother’s Day!  Whip this up on your way to our Mothers In Motion Open House Party tonight! Making her breakfast in bed this weekend? Slide this tasty treat right alongside her veggie omelet!

Ingredients:

  • 6oz almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla Liverite protein powder
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 frozen banana, chopped

Blend all ingredients together and share with your mother, daughter or any other special woman in your life!

Cinco De Chili Chocolate

It’s Cinco de Mayo, and it’s time to heat things up!  Grab your blender and mix up this caliente treat for a fiesta in your mouth!

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop chocolate Live Rite powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 6oz skim milk

 

Combine all ingredients in a blender & pulse until smooth.  Salud!

Live Rite Shake Of The Month: Grapefruit Paradise

It may not be summer yet, but you can let this grapefruit protein shake take you to a tropical paradise!

Ingredients:

  • 5 strawberries
  • 1/2 a chopped grapefruit
  • 1 scoop vanilla Live Rite protein powder
  • 3oz grapefruit juice
  • 3oz seltzer water

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients except for seltzer water in a blender.
  2. Pulse blend for about 1 minute, until a “slushie” consistency is reached.
  3. Stir in seltzer.
  4. Enjoy!

Live Rite Protein Shake: Birthday Cake!

birthday cake shakeIt’s my birthday and I’ll have cake if I want to…Well, a birthday cake shake that is!

  • 1 small frozen banana
  • 3oz fat free vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop vanilla Live Rite protein powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut butter
  • 6oz unsweetened vanilla Almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon sprinkles (set aside)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

1. Combine all ingredients, excluding sprinkles, and blend until smooth.
2. Add the 1 tablespoon of sprinkles to the blender and pulse blend for 15 seconds.
3. Top with whipped cream and remaining sprinkles.

* Tip: Peel the banana before freezing….it is NOT FUN to peel frozen bananas!

Ingredients

  • 7 raspberries
  • 7 blueberries
  • 7 strawberries
  • 1 scoop vanilla Live Rite
  • 6oz skim milk
  • 6 ice cubes

Directions

  1. Chop fruit and add all ingredients to blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

-1/3 cup of honeydew melon
-1/3 cup watermelon
-1 scoop vanilla LiveRite protein powder
-6 oz skim milk
-4 ice cubes
-a few leaves of fresh mint (optional)

 

Directions:

1. Start by cubing your melon to make it easier to blend.
2. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.
3. Serve immediately & enjoy!

  • 6oz. Skim milk
  • 10 drops red food coloring
  • 2 teaspoons chocolate syrup

Live Rite Protein Shake, Chocolate Peppermint

With the frigid temperatures, it’s easy to get swept up in the holiday spirit.  Union Square member, Emily G., came in to the gym positively glowing after a stop at the nearby Holiday Market, and together we came up with the perfect holiday tribute: a chocolate peppermint shake. Kick start your holidays with this delicious “holiday in a glass”.

Here’s what you’ll need for a single serving.  Feel free to double it up to help your friends and family get into the holiday spirit.

  • 1 scoop Chocolate Liverite protein powder
  • 3-4 drops of peppermint extract
  • 6oz unsweetened chocolate almond milk (you can substitute skim milk)
  • 1/2 a crushed candy cane for garnish

1. Combine all ingredients (except the candy cane) in a blender, and pulse until smooth.

2. Pour into a glass (or 2 if you’re sharing) and top with a dusting of candy cane pieces.

3. Enjoy!

We love this zesty combination of banana with a bit of spice. (Learn why cinnamon is good for you here.) The flax seeds add extra fiber, and almond milk boosts the protein content.

Spicy Banana Shake

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop vanilla Live Rite protein
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 small banana
  • 2 tbsp ground flax seeds
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 4-6 ice cubes

Blend and enjoy!

Recipe: Protein-Packed Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Who says you can’t eat chocolate-covered strawberries when you’re trying to lose weight? This snack recipe is one you can indulge in (occasionally) to satisfy your chocolate cravings while getting in some extra protein.

Protein-Packed
Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate cut into pieces (Nutritional info for this recipe uses Lindt 70% dark chocolate.)
  • 1 scoop chocolate Live Rite protein
  • 6 strawberries cut in half

Directions:

1. Microwave chocolate until fully melted.

2. Stir in protein powder.

3. Drizzle over strawberries and enjoy–or, put strawberries in the refrigerator to allow chocolate to cool and enjoy later!
