Review: thinkThin® Protein Bars: Smart Snacking For The Girl On The Go!

May 17, 2013 at 4:26 pm

Like most working girls, I am always busy and on the go, which sometimes makes eating healthy a challenge! I pre-pack my meals to ensure that I’m getting all the proper nutrients throughout the day, and one of my favorite things to throw in my bag are nutrition and protein bars.

I’ve had my share of protein bars that not only didn’t taste very good, but that were loaded with sugar and fat. On May 4th, at the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women, I was lucky enough to get a taste of thinkThin® protein bars and I fell in love!

These bars are DELICIOUS, with little to no sugar, and are packed with protein to keep you satisfied while you’re out living life. My favorite of the thinkThin® line were the Divine Mint Chocolate Coconut bars. It was the perfect after-dinner treat that I enjoyed guilt-free!

I’ll be purchasing more of these during my next grocery run to keep in my bag for those unexpected moments when hunger strikes! Try them out and let me know if you love them too!

How To Organize Your Fridge And 10 Tips For Longer Lasting Food!

May 14, 2013 at 12:51 pm

how to organize your fridge

Eating healthy is great, but why don’t more people do it? It might have something to do with the fact that fresh food goes bad faster than its processed counterpart.

But with these tips on how to organize your fridge and store fruits, vegetables and more, keeping your food fresh will be super easy!

  1. Onions stored in pantyhose will last 8 months!
  2. Swish your berries in one part white or apple cider vinegar and 10 parts water.
  3. Keep your guacamole from going bad by spraying it with cooking spray.
  4. Add butter to the exposed side of cheese to keep it from drying out.
  5. Keep your potatoes from sprouting by storing them with apples.
  6. Before covering a bowl of lettuce, place a paper towel on top to absorb the moisture.
  7. Preserve fresh herbs by putting them in ice cube trays filled with olive oil.
  8. Wrap the top of your banana bunches with plastic wrap.
  9. Store food in mason jars instead of tupperwear. Better for the food and better for you!
  10. Wrap lettuce, celery and broccoli stalks in aluminum foil before storing in the fridge.

8 Tips For The Perfect Self-Tan

8 Tips For The Perfect Self-Tan

Summer is coming and if you’re looking for a great guide to self-tanning, we’ve got you covered! Here are 8 tips for the perfect self-tan.

1. Plan your tan.

You should apply your self-tanner at least 2 days before going to the beach.

2. Make sure you exfoliate!

The self-tanner is applied to the topmost layer of your skin. This layer is made up of dead skin cells than only last about a week before they shed. If you don’t exfoliate, some of these cells will shed before others and you’ll be left with spots. I’m pretty sure the look you were going for was goddess and not leopard! Aim for an oil-free exfoliator and you’ll be all set.

3. Moisturize.

If an area of your skin is dry, more product will be absorbed there and you’ll end up with orange knuckles, elbows, knees and ankles. Make sure to use an oil-free moisturizers so the tanner will go on evenly.

4. Save your tips.

Make sure to apply Vaseline to your cuticles and nails to keep them from staining once you start. To remove self-tanner from your palms when you’re done, rub your hands on a washcloth. Don’t forget to get in between your fingers as well.

Get Shredded Abs like Miley Cyrus!

April 9, 2013 at 11:47 am

miley cyrus beach body 2013

Former Disney Princess and  star of hit series Hannah Montana,  Miley Cyrus  has shredded her innocent  image in exchange for the sassy, sexy woman that covers Cosmopolitan magazine’s March 2013 issue. Transitioning from long, wavy brunette locks to a short pixie blonde and sporting edgy, risky clothing like her much beloved crop top! The Miley that we used to know seems to have disappeared, gone, vanished. The new Miley is:

1. Not single. She is engaged to hot and hunky aussie, Liam Hemsworth.

2. Working on her fourth solo album.

3. Has taken an interest in twerking. Yes, TWERKING. (See the video below!)

4. To top it all off, she has developed a long, lean “womanly” figure that she shows off any chance she gets. She loves her crop tops!

With the help of celebrity Pilates trainer  Mari Winsor, Miley’s former Hannah Montana physique has transformed into a super sexy figure that she is exceptionally proud of.  Thanks to Miley’s mother, she met with Winsor and fell in love with the Pilates program. Pilates is a workout system that requires concentration, control, and breathing. It builds strength  without looking bulky, creating a sleek toned body. Miley is a fan of all Pilates workouts, but her favorites focus on the abs. (Did I mention her infatuation with crop tops?)
