3 Ways To Live A Simple Life Like Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley

You may know her from the hit ABC Family series, The Secret Life Of The American Teenager, but Shailene Woodley is all grown up looking as gorgeous and fit as ever.

The Golden Globe-nominated actress has been keeping busy since wrapping the Secret Life with a number of predicted box office hits, “Divergent” and “The Fault In Our Stars,” but still finds time to focus on herself. Woodley’s personal life is a lot less glamorous as than you’d think. To her, life is all about living simply.

The 22-year-old actress strives to stay healthy and happy by living a more simplistic lifestyle in a few surprising ways:

She steers clear of the Hollywood lifestyle: With all of the glitz and glamour that comes with fame, there also comes the struggle for normalcy, but not for Shailene. “I think people in this industry make it harder on themselves than they need to. It’s easy to be happy. It’s easier to be happy than to not be,” she said in an interview with Flaunt magazine about dealing with her growing stardom.

For a more “unconventional” one: While most people just head over to their local supermarket to stock up on the essentials, Shailene heads for the hills to gather her own spring water from mountains every month. “I go to a farm to get my food. I make everything from my own toothpaste to my own body lotions and face oils,” she told Flaunt Magazine. She even makes her own medicine and cheese! “It’s an entire lifestyle. It’s appealing to my soul.”

She stays active: It’s not only what she consumes that keeps her looking flawless. The brunette beauty also likes to stay active whether it is hiking, biking, running, or swimming. “Pretty much anything that has to do with nature,” she told Teen Vogue. She also likes to wind down by doing “15 to 45 minutes of yoga” at night.
